What to Expect

Rosalie, a magnificent example of the Federal Style, played a significant role in American History as the Union Headquarters during the Civil War. Rosalie's John Henry Belter parlor furniture, twenty-one pieces in all, is among the finest examples of his work still in existence.

Rosalie opens at 10:00 AM and the last tour begins at 4:00 PM. Tours are on the hour at the TOP of the hour.

About

In 1716, the French built a fort on the bluffs of Natchez and named it Rosalie in honor of the beautiful Duchess de Pontchartrain. Rosalie boasts beautiful gardens and visitors may ring the bell from the USS Mississippi III while visiting. The Bicentennial Garden and gazebo provide an outstanding view of the Mississippi River. Rosalie was sold to the Mississippi State Society Daughters of the American Revolution in 1938.
