What to Expect

Self return trips are a good option for customers who are interested in exploring the stretch of the river from our landing to the Nature Center.

This is also a good option for inexperienced customers who are interested in getting a feel for the water and controlling a canoe or kayak

  • All our trips are great for first timers. This section of the Huron River is very tame, and our team is trained to help get you comfortable getting onto the water.
  • This is a trip through nature and not an amusement park ride. Generally, with the width of the river and gentle current, obstacles are easy to navigate around and can be seen before you get to them.
  • Much of this stretch is less than 3 feet deep, however there are some isolated places where it can be 6 feet or deeper.

Restrictions

All minors must be accompanied by an adult. Safety is our top priority, We encourage that all participants should be comfortable being in the river with a PFD and able bodied enough to recover the vessel in case the boat tips over.
