The Innovation Trail
Starting at $200 | 90 Minutes |
What to Expect
From the telephone to the microwave oven, ice cubes to anesthesia, Boston & Cambridge have participated in the invention of a surprising number of everyday innovations. Email, Radar, guidance chips, and the rubber firehose all came from the same ten-block radius that hosted the flagship of the Human Genome Project.
Discover why Kendall Square is called the most innovative square mile on the planet and how Boston was revolutionizing medicine as far back as the 1600s. Following the Innovation Trail, we'll walk past offices of Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Apple, and the world’s most important research sites for genomics, cancer, and artificial intelligence as well as Boston's Ether Dome and the sites where Alexander Graham Bell made his first phone calls. Science geeks will be in heaven, and for those who don’t read science journals, prepare to have your mind blown. This tour delves into both our history and the cutting-edge of CURRENT science to show you what the history books will look like in twenty years.
