Cucumbers typically thrive in July but begin to bow out as the big summer heat rolls in for August.
As one of our favorite vegetables to grow on the farm, cucumbers, and their numerous varieties, span a wide range of tastes, culinary uses, and flavor profiles. From the thin-skinned varieties of Katrina and Diva, to the super crunchy and resilient Salt & Pepper, to the long white Japanese style Itachi, each variety has its own unique flavor and can play its own distinctive role in your meal prep line-up.
Join us on the farm to sample an assortment of crisp, refreshing cuke varieties, talk with our farmer about breeding and variety selection, and end the class with a delicious dish prepared by our culinary team featuring our favorite cucumbers of the moment.
