Cambridge Ghost Tour
MOST HAUNTED STREET IN MARYLAND | Starting at $20| 1.75 hrs
What to Expect
9True Ghost Stories along the Most Haunted Street in Maryland.
High Street looks much like it did in Colonial times, with beautiful historic homes, old trees, a courthouse, and a glorious church, all set on the historic Choptank River.
But by night ... you may encounter the spirit of Williamina, who died too young, forbidden to marry the man she loved, then forced into a loveless marriage. She died after birthing her third child. But....it seems she's returned to the place she was happiest ... a house on High Street.
Wander by the lot where Cambridge residents sometimes see the spectral visions of their deceased pets. Hear about the mischievous children who still haunt the old Leonard Hotel - or half of it, anyway.
There's a spirit who steals umbrellas and a young woman who mournfully weeps in the attic where she was once confined. And the cat ... the loyal friend of a lady long gone, shows himself in the house today - maybe searching for her. Sometimes he brings his spectral friends.
Listen for the faint chants about Bloody Henny emanating from Spring Valley. She was hanged near the courthouse after murdering her enslaver. You might hear the low hum of the Singing Yew Tree in the graveyard across the street.
BIG LIZZ: No Dorchester Ghost tour would be complete without recounting the famous story of Big Lizz, the African slave, beheaded by her enslaver after she helped him bury his money. She beckons to people near the Decoursey Bridge ... to follow with the promise that she'll show them the money. Some follow. None return.
All these and more have amazing stories.
