Tandem Kayaks
Our 2-person tandem sea kayaks are fast, stable and spacious. Anyone paddling to the islands of Casco Bay must have capsize recovery experience. Sprayskirts are provided at no extra cost upon request.
Solo Sea Kayaks
Our solo sea kayak rentals are generally for experienced sea kayakers only. These long and narrow boats are very different than the kayaks many people are accustomed to using on lakes and rivers. They are much more seaworthy, but they require a higher level of experience. Anyone paddling to the islands of Casco Bay must have capsize recovery experience. Sprayskirts are provided at no extra cost upon request.
SUPs
Discover the joys of stand-up paddle boarding (SUP) by venturing onto the waters of Casco Bay! Exploring the coastline of Portland harbor on a SUP is a fun adventure no matter how much experience you have. If you've never been on a SUP before, our staff will give you pointers before you head out. One you're on the water, enjoy the views of the scenic bay and look out for wildlife like seals and seabirds.

SKILLS REQUIRED FOR PADDLING TO THE ISLANDS: We require that anyone renting our kayaks stay within a designated "Shore Zone" unless someone in their group is a skilled kayaker with experience rescuing a capsized kayak. That means that you will not be able to paddle to the nearby islands (including Fort Gorges) if someone in your group does not know how to re-enter a kayak after a capsize. Anyone who paddles onto the exposed waters of Casco Bay without this knowledge (or someone else who has that knowledge) is taking an extremely high risk. Casco Bay is a potentially dangerous environment due to its very cold waters, busy boat traffic and exposure to the conditions of the Atlantic Ocean (including sudden fog and strong winds). It can be extremely difficult to re-enter a kayak in cold and turbulent water.

Cancellation Policy
If you cancel one of our regularly-scheduled tours or lessons, or a rental booking…

- More than 48 hours in advance: You will receive a full refund. n
- Between 2 hours and 48 hours in advance: You will receive a 50% refund. n
- Less than 2 hours in advance: You will not receive a refund, and we cannot apply any amount paid to booking on another date. n
We can not offer a refund if you choose to return your rental earlier than planned.
nIf you need to reduce the number of people in your group within 48 hours of your booking we will reduce your total booking amount by 50% of the cost of each person that is being removed from the booking.
nWEATHER
nWe will offer the option of a full refund if we decide to cancel your booking due to weather conditions. We usually do not cancel tours due to overcast skies, cool temperatures or scattered showers, but we do cancel when winds are too strong, when there is steady, heavy rain, or when sustained thunderstorms appear likely.
Please keep in mind that the weather along the Maine coast is unpredictable and quick-to-change. Forecasts made several days in advance are very frequently inaccurate, and it is very common for a single summer day to include several hours of ideal conditions and several hours of very poor conditions.
