What to Expect
Experience one of Maine’s most intense whitewater adventures on the Penobscot River. This guided six-hour trip focuses on the Upper Gorge, Cribworks and Big A, running the upper section of steep, pool-and-drop rapids—Class 4 with some Class 5—twice for maximum adrenaline. Trips begin and end at the Penobscot Outdoor Center in Millinocket and include on-site amenities such as camping, lodging and meals for guests staying with the base. The route showcases dramatic 80-foot gorge walls and sustained technical whitewater.
