What to Expect

Get ready for a unique evening of ghost stories and Wabanaki Indigenous spirit tales as you explore the paranormal side of this beloved seaport village. Discover the deeply personal stories  behind Bar Harbor’s ghostly activity as you hear tales no other tours will tell. Your historically dressed guide will lead you through the darkening shadows, by blue lantern light, to several of the most haunted places in town, including three "hot spots" where our guests commonly capture pictures of orbs and full body apparitions as well as experience other unexplained phenomena. 

On a typical tour you will: 

Visit places that are currently and actively haunted within the downtown.

Hear at least a dozen stories of ghosts and "spirited" encounters.

Learn about the different types of hauntings and why they occur.

There is NO 1932 Criterion Theatre interior access for 2020 but we will stop at the site within arms reach of the ghosts therein.

Listen to an Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) of a resident spirit.

Visit the Old Burial Ground.

Hear ancient Wabanaki Indigenous tales that may make you question every bump in the night.

What to Bring

Note: This is a walking tour so dress appropriately for weather and comfort. We operate tours in light rain and please note that a rainy/misty day can be between 40-50 degrees and have wind. If you are unsure about the weather, bring a jacket and/or umbrella. Check your weather app early and often.

Cancellation Policy

Tickets are refundable with at least a 24 hour notice prior to your tour. If you do not cancel with us at least 24 hours to your tour, your tickets are non-refundable because your spot is being guaranteed.

Tours may be cancelled due to severe weather and is at the sole discretion of Bar Harbor Ghost Tours. The activity usually runs in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, but the seller may cancel the activity up to an hour before the start time in the event of unsafe weather conditions. If the seller cancels the event, ticket holders will be allowed to reschedule tickets or receive a full refund.
