Map and Compass Fundamentals

Learn how to read a topographic map, plot routes, find your location. Learn how to use a handheld compass inside and outside. Learn what the symbols mean, how to determine safe and dangerous routes, create courses, plan for emergencies and more. For anyone that enjoys going outside whether using a trail or geocaching, and future Registered Maine Guides. Students will need a two-degree baseplate compass. Two classes that are two hours each.
