What to Expect
Give your students an unforgettable outdoor learning experience at Moncus Park! Our expert staff leads engaging educational activities designed to connect children with nature and inspire curiosity about the world around them.
Choose from the following exciting activities:
Woodland Trails Adventure:
Students embark on an interactive nature walk through our scenic trails, participating in a guided scavenger hunt that brings the wilderness to life.
Iris Discovery Tour: (available in the spring only)
Young botanists explore the beautiful iris beds surrounding Lake Reaux, using plant identification charts to learn about these fascinating flowers and their environment.
Insect Exploration
Budding entomologists will love this hands-on exploration of the park’s buzzing, crawling, and flying residents! Students will observe insects in their natural habitats while learning about their life cycles, adaptations, and ecological roles.
Migratory Bird Expedition
Take flight on a birdwatching adventure! Students discover the incredible journeys of migratory birds that visit Moncus Park, using binoculars and field guides to identify species and understand how habitats support their seasonal travels.
Each 45-60 minute guided experience concludes in our outdoor classroom, where students can enjoy their lunch. Afterward, groups are welcome to explore the park's amenities, including our playground and splash pad.
Group Size:
Maximum 150 students with 10 chaperones
Note: This is a structured educational experience designed for school groups. Parent attendance beyond designated chaperones is not included. All field trip guests are encouraged to ride the bus. Chaperones that arrive in personal vehicles will be parked in our paved parking lot and parking fees will apply.

Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Period:
nIf you must cancel your field trip cancellations made 30 days prior to your field trip will receive a full refund. Cancellations made with less than 30 days before your field trip will be rescheduled and the balance paid will be credited to the rescheduled date.
Inclement Weather
nIn the event of inclement weather that poses a safety risk or significantly impacts the planned activities, the park reserves the right to cancel or postpone the field trip. In such cases, efforts will be made to reschedule the trip or provide alternative arrangements. If a mutally agreed upon reschedule date can not be determined a full refund will be given.
