Canon Camera Bird Photography Workshop
What to Expect
This is an opportunity for Canon Camera owners to learn the basics of birding photography by receiving 1 on 1 instructions on your optimal Canon camera settings and advice on best practices for photographing birds in a comfortable (and fun!) environment.
We would go over topics such as selecting shutter speeds, aperture depths, Kelvin temperatures for assigning proper white balance values and the advantages of shooting in RAW vs. jpg format as well as the techniques of photographing birds in flight vs. perched.
During the autumn and winter months, we’ll be on the lookout for different species of cold weather species such as Warblers, Hawks, Titmice, Bluebirds, Sparrows, Brown Thrashers, Wrens, Towhees, Cardinals, Ducks, and Woodpeckers.
Spring and summer means we will be looking for various species of birds in addition to the ones mentioned above such as Warblers, Meadowlarks, Flycatchers, Vireos, Indigo Buntings, Tanagers, Grosbeaks, raptors and more!
Viewing Recommendations: A zoom/telephoto lens (200 mm or more) is recommended for this trip.
Physical Difficulty: easy to moderate (walking through open tall grass fields & steep wooded paths) 1 – 2 miles possible)
