Spirits in the Gardens

Reiman Gardens popular fall celebration is back with even more spooky fun! With 1000+ intricately carved Jack-O-Lanterns, candy, chemistry experiments, cosplay, there is fun for the entire family! Wear your favorite costume and join in the fun. Visit our Candy Factory on the South Field to collect treats and non-candy items. Treats will be available all evening, Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

How Timed Tickets Work:

The selected time and date is your entry time to Spirits in the Gardens. You may show up anytime during this window of time. It is not the amount of time you are on site, only the time you may enter the event. For example, if you choose Friday from 6pm-6:15pm you must arrive between 6pm and 6:15pm, but may stay as long as you choose. This helps us control the flow of the event and gives you a positive experience!

Please bring your QR Code ticket, either printed or on your phone to the event. Entry gates close at 10pm on Friday and Saturday, and 9pm on Sunday. The event ends at 11pm on Friday and Saturday and 10pm on Sunday.

Starting Point:

Entrance to Spirits in the Gardens is at our East Entrance and not our main entrance. This will be marked by signage. View Route Map Here

What to bring/What not to bring:

Wear your favorite costume or comfy clothes. Bring trick-or-treat bags to collect candy (Friday-Sunday). Strollers, wheelchairs, and motorized mobility scooters are welcome. No bicycles, skateboards or other vehicles are allowed. We apologize but we are not able to check out our wheelchairs or mobility scooters during this event. No animals are allowed unless they are service animals.

Bathrooms:

Once you have been checked in and entered the event you may use the restrooms inside the Gardens. Bathrooms are located in our main building, Mahlstede Building, Hunziker House and at Sycamore Falls. Please note that our paths are ONE WAY, so if you would like to use the restroom before you start, we ask you return to the start of the path, which is also marked.

Path Length:

The path is approximately ¾ of a mile and is under 5% slope and takes 40-80 minutes to walk in entirety.

Accessibility:

The entire path is ADA accessible. 90% of the path is paved, with one small section that is turf. We apologize that we are not able to allow use of our wheelchairs or motorized mobility scooters on the nights of this event due to liability issues. You are welcome to bring your own motorized mobility scooters or wheelchairs. If you need special accommodations, please contact the Director of Guest Services at 515-294-8994 or [email protected].

Entrance, Exit and Parking Map:

Parking is free. Preferred Parking Lot is S2, with S1, S3, S5 and S6 as additional parking. The Beach Avenue gate will also be open for exiting after the event. View Parking Map Here

Directions to Reiman Gardens:

Some smart phones and GPS list Reiman Gardens and our mailing address in the wrong location. Instead of entering Reiman Gardens or our address, enter into the map’s search field “intersection of University Blvd and South 16th Street." Find the map below with directions to our entrance from the intersection of University Blvd and S. 16th St.

Refund/Cancellation Policy:

There are no refunds or exchanges on any special event registration, though reservations may be transferred to another person or persons for the same event. Registrations are not refunded for any inclement weather including, but not limited to, snow, wind, rain or cold or extreme temperatures. Event will be held rain or shine.
