Hyde Park has long been hailed for its architectural treasures - on this walking tour we’ll look deeper into the details that make up some of Hyde Park’s most remarkable buildings, including Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House, Barry Byrne’s St Thomas the Apostle, and Edward Dart’s Augustana Lutheran Church. We’ll dive into the history of Hyde Park (the town and the neighborhood) and the architecture of mansions, apartments, and institutional buildings. And of course we’ll dive into the history of brick architecture in Chicago!
After this tour you’ll never look at Chicago or the humble brick in the same way again!
