What to Expect
The ultimate experience at the LineUp is to ride the world’s biggest standing wave at 100 feet wide! Enjoy and epic session for Intermediate and Advanced surfers to work on generating maximum speed for hard carving turns. Please note that your wave time starts at the time that is listed on your booking confirmation
Bring Your Own Surfboard:
You are welcome to bring your own surfboard to the session, but please be aware that The LineUp is not liable for any potential damage to personal gear during your time on the wave. Surfers are required to wear a leash.
Private Wave Buyout:
Private wave rentals accommodate up to 15 participants, providing ample wave time and a personalized experience for every guest.
Includes
- Surf orientation and basic riding instructions
- Soft Top Surfboard (required for first timers)
- Helmet (required for first timers)
- Bodyboards
Restrictions
- Minimum 4 feet in height
- 10+ years of age and 90lbs
- Able to swim/Comfortable in turbulent water
- Adequate physical fitness (as evaluated by the surf coaches)
- Have proper surf/bathing attire to withstand high flow water
- First time riders must ride a soft top board and use safety helmet for of 3 waves.
- Surfers are required to wear a leash.

Cancellation Policy
48 Hours in advance:
nFor bookings made directly through The LineUp at Wai Kai to be eligible for a refund of the amount paid, less a $5 administrative fee per transaction, you must call 808-515-7873 or visit Launch to confirm your cancellation and/or reschedule no less than 48 hours before the scheduled activity (surf, paddle, lesson, scheduled pick-up time, or other product/service booking). Any bookings cancelled within 48-hours or no-shows will result in a 100% forfeiture of the amount paid.
n24 Hours in advance:
nFor bookings made directly through The LineUp at Wai Kai to be eligible for re-booking or receive the transaction amount, less a $5 administrative fee per transaction, you must call 808-515-7873 or visit Launch no less than 24 hours before the scheduled activity to confirm your re-booking or gift card request. Any bookings not rebooked within 24 hours or no-shows will result in a 100% forfeiture of the amount paid.
nThird Party Sellers:
nFor bookings not made directly through The LineUp at Wai Kai, refund inquiries must be sent to the purchasing agent, agency, or site you booked through and must adhere to their rules and restrictions.
nGroups & Programs:
nBookings for Group Events, Na Opio Kai, Wai Kai Surf Academy/Lessons, or other specialty clinics – please refer to the specific cancellation policies and terms identified for those programs.
nSafety & Weather
nThe safety of our guests is our number one priority and weather conditions are always taken into consideration. The LineUp at Wai Kai reserves the right to cancel any reservation if conditions are deemed unsafe (e.g. high winds or lightning). If so, we will reschedule or provide a refund to for the activity that was cancelled. Rescheduling and gift cards will only be issued if their experience is limited to 2 hours or less and/or less than 50% of the activity time slot. 2 hours or more than 50% off activity time slots will not be eligible for any refund compensation.
nOther
nWai Kai reserves the right to modify, reschedule, or cancel any booking at any time, for any reason. In the event of a cancellation, guests will be offered alternative booking options or a full refund.
