What to Expect
This is a HIKING TOUR designed for active travelers who want to experience Haleakalā National Park on foot.
This tour is available as either a daytime or sunset experience. Daytime tours depart at 8:00 AM, while sunset tours depart at 12:30 PM and are designed to culminate with sunset from Haleakalā.
Rather than spending the day moving from viewpoint to viewpoint by vehicle, you will hike into Haleakalā’s dramatic volcanic landscape with a private guide. Depending on conditions and your group’s ability, your day may include trails such as Sliding Sands, Halemauʻu, and Hosmer Grove.
Expect meaningful time on the trail, changing elevation, uneven terrain, and rapidly changing mountain weather.

Restrictions
This tour is not suitable for guests looking primarily for a sightseeing or vehicle-based Haleakalā experience.
Guests must be physically capable of hiking independently on natural mountain terrain.

Appropriate layered clothing is required. Mountain conditions can change rapidly and may be significantly colder, wetter, and windier than conditions at sea level.
Your guide may shorten, modify, or decline a hike if a guest’s physical condition, footwear, clothing, equipment, or behavior creates a safety concern.
