What to Expect
Journey to the summit of Mauna Kea, nearly 14,000 ft above the Pacific, where sweeping views and clear, crisp air create an extraordinary setting for sunset. After dark, explore the night sky as your guide points out stars and constellations with a laser pointer, along with views of selected celestial objects through a telescope.
With small groups and knowledgeable guides, it’s a memorable way to experience one of Hawaiʻi’s most extraordinary places.

Restrictions
Guests ages 12 and under are not permitted due to the health risks associated with extended time at high altitude. Guests ages 13–17 must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or responsible adult. Guests age 81 and older may join a Private Tour instead.
Guests may not participate if they:
- Have a heart or lung condition
- Have been scuba diving within the previous 24 hours
- Are pregnant
- Are under the influence of alcohol or drugs
Please avoid alcohol for at least 12 hours before departure. If you have concerns about spending several hours at high altitude, please consult your doctor before booking.
