Morning Snorkel — Captain Cook Monument
Sea Paradise 4.5-hour morning snorkel tour departing Keauhou Bay at 8:30 AM aboard the Hoku Nui — a
What to Expect
Sail south from Keauhou Bay on the Hoku Nui, Sea Paradise’s 50-foot luxury sailing catamaran, to the World Famous Captain Cook Monument at Kealakekua Bay — a Marine Life Conservation District of 315 acres protected since 1969, 60-80 foot visibility, and some of the most abundant marine life on the Kona Coast.
Sea Paradise has sailed to the monument since 1985 — one of the original operators at this site. Marine naturalist crew run a full reef briefing before every snorkel. What you may see: spinner dolphins at the bay entrance, spotted eagle rays, Moorish idols, yellow tang, humuhumunukunukuapuaʻa (Hawaii’s state fish), Hawaiian green sea turtles (honu), and moray eels throughout the reef.
When sea conditions permit, the tour continues to the Red Hill Area — a volcanic headland on the Kona Coast featuring underwater lava arches and lava tubes at snorkeling depth, reachable by boat only. Two spectacular snorkel sites — one exceptional Kona tour experience.
Continental breakfast is served on the outbound sail. Deli-style buffet lunch is served on the return. Departs the Keauhou Bay finger pier, end of 78-7130 Kaleiopapa Street, Kailua-Kona
