What to Expect
The Sunrise Journey starts before dawn with transportation to Haleakala National Park, where guides share the volcano’s history, geology, and its rare plants and animals. After viewing the spectacular sunrise at the crater rim, you’ll receive a comprehensive safety briefing at about 6,500 feet and embark on a 26-mile guided descent through Haleakala Ranch, upcountry Kula, Makawao, pineapple fields and ending at Paia Bay Beach Park. The experience blends interpretive storytelling with an extended scenic bike ride down the slopes of the world’s largest dormant volcano.

- Minimum biking age 15 years
- Minimum height at least 4′10″ (pre-qualification notes state at least 5′; listed height requirements conflict)
- Not allowed if pregnant (no pregnant women as bikers or van riders)

Cancellation Policy
The last “48 hours” before the tour date…Sorry there are absolutely no refunds!
nHaleakala bike tour activities may be canceled by Mountain Riders Bike Co. for reasons including but not limited to inclement weather, lack of participation, etc. In the event of a canceled activity the following options will be available to the clients.
A trip that is cancelled prior to 48 hours will result in a no charge and the option to reschedule.
nIf we cancel before we pick you up inside the 48 hour time period. You will receive a full refund or the option to reschedule
nIf the biking portion of the tour is called off at the designated staging area. The van tour will continue and you will be charged 50% of the total tour cost.
nAny activity canceled or rescheduled by the individual clients within 48 hours of their activity date including the day of the activity, will be charged in full on the original scheduled day of their activity.
nCustomers that choose to opt out of the bike ride portion for personal reasons that may vary, will be charged in full.
