What to Expect
A one-night-only immersive dinner event celebrating the moon’s significance in Hawaiian and immigrant cultures through storytelling, astronomy, and cuisine. Narrated by cultural leader Kainoa Daines, this unique dining experience features:
· Multicourse communal dinner under the stars on the Moana Surfrider’s iconic Diamond Lawn
· Moongazing with Stargazers of Hawaii and telescope viewing led by Nick Bradley
· Live Hawaiian music soloist
The evening explores celestial navigation and lunar planting traditions; cultural influences from Hawaiian, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, and Portuguese communities; and the melding of traditional cooking practices using local ingredients and modern technique.
In the traditional Hawaiian lunar calendar (Kaulana Mahina), this lunar month (known as Mahina) is tracked by its specific night. October 21 falls during the ʻOle moon nights (specifically ʻOle-pau), which are traditionally considered part of a four-day cycle where the tides are strong, making it a time traditionally set aside for rest, reflection, or preparation.
Tickets are $195 per adult, inclusive of tax and gratuity; includes complimentary valet parking for up to 4 hours.

Guest cancellations require a 48-hour notice and cancellations for parties of 6 or more require a 72-hour notice.
