What to Expect

Have you always wondered what it's like to breathe underwater?

Introductory Dives are for adventure seekers who aren't scuba certified (yet) and want to see what it's like to breathe underwater and explore the reef with a PADI Instructor. Certified divers are welcome to join us as Introductory Dives also make excellent refreshers!

During this experience, participants will receive a thorough briefing, learn and practice some skills in the water, and then take an underwater tour. These experiences take place from our local shore dive spots with a maximum of only four divers per Instructor.

All equipment is included.

Times and Duration

  • Daily at 7am (not available Sundays)
  • 4-6 hours

What to Expect

In this introductory session, you'll actually be swimming with the marine life of Maui. Here's what else you need to know:

  • We'll meet at our shop at 7:00 a.m. to get geared up.
  • You'll follow us to the nearby dive site (divers must provide their own transportation).
  • You'll dive with a certified PADI instructor.
  • Your instructor will give you a briefing on equipment, safety, equalization techniques, underwater skills, and let you know about what you'll be seeing as we dive.
  • Once we're geared up, we walk into calm, shallow water where we practice some skills.
  • Let the diving begin! We'll stay down as long as our air supply lets us.
  • We always make sure FUN is a top priority!

Prerequisites

-10 years old

DIVERS UNDER 18: A parent or legal guardian must remain at the shore dive site for the duration of the activity. (exceptions or special cases must be approved with management)

Important Note

All students participating in dive training are required to complete a [medical history questionnaire] (http://mauidreamsdiveco.com/uploads/10346E_Diver_Medical_Participant_Questionnaire_2022_02_1%20(1).pdf) and may require a physician's release to participate in scuba diving. Please read the form at this link before booking. If you are booking additional divers, please share the link with them as well.

Special Note: You cannot fly (or visit altitude) immediately after your dive, so please do not book your dive for the same day you are scheduled to fly. Divers
should plan an 18 hour surface interval between diving and flying.

Cancellation Policy

…and here’s the rest of the “small print”:
nWe take our course bookings and calendar seriously. When there is a cancellation it affects others booked in activities and our planning abilities.

Important note about classes:
nWhen you book a course with us, we commit to you that your space in the course is secured for the agreed upon dates. Maui Dreams will not issue a refund if you decide to discontinue your training at any point for any reason. Furthermore, if you do not meet course requirements during training and are unable to proceed forward at the pace of the other students (or the instructor does not feel it is suitable to continue) a refund will NOT be issued for the unfinished portion of the class. Options can be discussed with management regarding reschedule or hiring of a private instructor to continue (additional charges will be required), if additional days are needed, additional charges will apply.

When you book dives or courses with us, you agree to these terms and conditions:

Minimum Diver Numbers: We require there to be at least 2 participants for the activity to happen. We will contact you to reschedule or offer an option to pay an additional fee to ensure the activity can run, if we do not meet those requirements.

Cancellation/Reschedule Policy:

n

We recommend purchasing Trip Protection to avoid any cancellation issues.

n

We have a 48 hour NO CANCELLATION Window. If you must cancel or reschedule inside of 48 hour window prior to the start time of your scheduled activity, you will forfeit all monies paid unless Trip Protection was purchased at time of booking.
nIf you need to cancel your reservation outside the window without Trip Protection a 3% fee may be applied

Reservations made more than 2 months in advance from the activity date are not subject to the 3% fee

96 Hour Cancellation/Reschedule Policy: Our above policy remains the same but is extended from 48 to 96 hours between the dates of December 15 - January 15.

96 Hour Cancellation/Reschedule Policy: This time period is in effect for all Private Charter bookings.

If you are booking for a group of divers, you will be financially responsible for all of the divers you are representing.

Reservations made more than 3 months in advance from time of booking are not subject to the 5% fee

Waiving the Cancellation Policy:
nCancellation Policy will be waived if we receive a medical note from a doctor for treatment/exam which must have taken place within 72 hours of check-in time of the missed dive. This does not waive a companion diver.

n

Cancellation Policy will be waived if divers miss the boat or class due to road closure or weather event that affects the population at large.

n

We have a strictly enforced 72 HOUR CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULE POLICY: There are no refunds for anything changed or canceled within 72 hours of your scheduled check-in time.

If you are booking for a group of participants, you will be financially responsible for all of the people you are representing.

n

All locations are dependent on weather conditions, so sites cannot be guaranteed.
