Deep Ocean Safari

Our deep water ocean safari departing from Kawaihae Harbor offers an opportunity to experience offshore of the Kohala Coast. This specialized charter focuses on finding deep water species rarely seen on typical tours. Guests search for pilot whales, melon-headed whales, false killer whales, pygmy sperm whales and various dolphin species such as spotted or bottlenose. In addition, we look for shark species like whale sharks, oceanic white tips and hammerheads along with pelagic manta rays that roam these offshore waters. The experience is designed for those seeking something beyond the usual coastal tour.

Our Deep Ocean Safari begins early in the morning as we depart the harbor and head offshore in search of the open ocean’s most elusive wildlife. For the next 2–3 hours, we explore blue water, scanning the horizon for signs of pelagic species while you relax on board with light snacks and refreshing drinks. The journey is part of the experience—calm cruising, expansive views, and the anticipation of what might appear. By around 11am, we make our way back toward the Kohala Coast, where we stop at a secluded snorkel spot known for its pristine reefs, clear water, and vibrant marine life, giving you the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation.
