Winter 2026 O‘ahu Nature Adventure Camp

Our Themes

Get ready to dive into nature exploration this fall with Hawaiʻi Nature Center’s Oʻahu Nature Adventure Camp that helps us deepen our connection to and curiosity about nature, the outdoors, and each other.

Our theme offers hands-on experience, engaging and active games and crafts, and opportunities to problem-solve and build lifelong skills, friendships, and appreciation for the natural world.

Our week features a field trip to learn about the theme in an inspiring new setting. Location may be a stunning coastline and beach, a farm and garden, and new trails to traverse.

We will not be swimming during any part of these weeks…but we will get wet and muddy!

Join us for a fun and action-packed fall at the Hawaiʻi Nature Center with our Fall Nature Adventure Camps!

Winter NAC - Week 1: December 21st - 24th

Native Wings

Take flight with the Hawai'i Nature Center as we discover more about our native birds! Hawaiian forests are home to 'i'iwi, pueo, 'alalā, and a lot more – birds found nowhere else on earth! We’ll break out the binoculars in search of Makiki Valley’s elusive 'amakihi, keeping track of all the other avian friends we find along the way, while leaving plenty of time for fishing and bird themed crafts and games.

Winter NAC - Week 2: December 28th - 31st

Wonderous Whales

Embark on the journey of a whale to learn about these intelligent giants! During Hawaii’s winter, we are lucky to have Humpback Whales migrate here. Through outdoor exploration and activities, we’ll discover how whales navigate vast distances, communicate, and care for one another. We’ll also learn about the important role whales play in the ocean ecosystem and how we can help protect them!
