Kanaio Coast • La Perouse Bay • Makena Turtle Town
Snorkel remote coves, pinnacles, and bays experienced by few and inaccessible by car. Sightsee the crystalline volcanic formations of Maui’s most recent lava flows.
🌋 The Kanaio Sea Caves
Begin your journey along Maui’s untouched Gold Coast, cruising past Wailea and Makena to the remote Kanaio coastline. This area, shaped by a 200-year-old volcanic eruption from Mt. Haleakalā, features lava arches, sea caves, and dramatic coastal grottos—a paradise for photographers and nature lovers.
🖼️ Tip: Bring your camera—these formations are rarely seen from land and are simply breathtaking.
🐬 Dolphins Dead Ahead!
After exploring the sea caves, head to La Perouse Bay, a protected marine sanctuary and favorite hangout of spinner dolphins—often with calves in tow! These playful dolphins love to ride the boat's wake and may even greet you during your snorkel.
💫 Snorkelers have described encounters with dolphins as “spiritual” and truly unforgettable.
🤿 Snorkeling at La Perouse
