Learn to Surf

If you are vacationing in Hawai'i, one of the greatest experiences you can have is to surf. The first time you catch a wave is a thrill you will keep for the rest of your life. Charlie Smith is a professional surfer and an elite surfing coach who has been giving vacationers that thrill since the 90s.

How does it work?

The most important thing about surfing is the proper way to stand on the surfboard. Charlie first teaches his surf students this skill with the surfboards safely laid out on the beach. Then it's time to put that lesson to practice in the surf. Charlie will guide the small group of students to where the waves break, let you know when to paddle, catch the wave, and stand up to ride the wave.

We provide surf boots and shirts, soft-top surfboards and leash; all you have to do is surf and have fun! We like to keep the class sizes small, usually between 4 and 6 people. If you have a larger group, please contact us ahead of time (preferably before you arrive on Kaua'i) so we can make arrangements for everyone to learn to surf in a safe environment. We are here to help make you feel safe in the water.
