What to Expect

The Discover Scuba Diving experience is a fantastic introductory program that lets you try scuba diving under the direct supervision of a PADI Professional. It's a quick and easy way to experience breathing underwater and see if you enjoy scuba diving before committing to a full certification course.

Here's what you can typically expect from a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience:

Before You Get in the Water:

Briefing: A PADI Professional will explain the basic safety guidelines, the scuba equipment you'll be using, and what to expect during your dive. You'll learn about essential skills like how to equalize your ears, communicate underwater using hand signals, and the importance of breathing continuously.

Equipment Introduction: You'll get familiar with the basic scuba gear, including the mask, snorkel, fins, buoyancy control device (BCD), regulator, and tank. The instructor will explain how each piece of equipment works.

Paperwork: To ensure your fitness to dive, you must complete a PADI Medical Questionnaire and a liability release form.

In the Water:

Water Session: You'll start by practicing a few basic skills under the watchful eye of your instructor. These skills often include:

Breathing through the regulator.

Clearing water from your mask and regulator.

Equalizing your ears.

Learning basic buoyancy control.

Underwater Exploration: After you practice a few basic skills, you might have the opportunity to do a short, shallow dive in open water (like a calm ocean area). This is where you can experience the thrill of swimming underwater and observing marine life. The maximum depth for a Discover Scuba Dive is usually limited to 12 meters (40 feet).

Supervision: You'll be under an instructor's direct and constant supervision. The ratio of participants to instructors is kept low to ensure your safety and provide personalized attention.

No Certification: The Discover Scuba Diving experience is not a certification course. However, if you enjoy it and decide to pursue further diving, the experience may count towards your PADI Scuba Diver or Open Water Diver certification.

Duration: The entire experience typically lasts a few hours, including the briefing and the in-water session(s). The underwater time is usually around 25-45 minutes, but may vary depending on your comfort level.

All Equipment Provided: We provide all the necessary scuba equipment for your experience. You'll generally just need to bring a swimsuit and a towel.

Minimum Age: Participants generally need to be at least 10 years old.
