Clay Your Way: Pottery for Tweens & Teens • Thursdays

Calling All Young Creatives!

Clay Your Way: Pottery for Tweens & Teens is a fun, teacher-led weekly pottery class where ages 10–15 can explore, experiment, and discover just how much they can create with clay.

Rather than everyone making the same step-by-step project, students are encouraged to follow their own ideas. They might create functional pottery, handmade gifts, sculptures, decorative pieces—or something completely their own!

Pottery Studio Manager LydiaKay Blackburn brings more than 40 years of art teaching experience and will be there to guide, encourage, and help students bring their ideas to life. She’ll introduce techniques, demonstrate skills, provide inspiration & ideas for projects while offering hands-on help and giving each young artist plenty of freedom to create.

Students can register week-to-week, making it easy to participate when it works for your family's schedule. Each student will purchase one bag of clay, which should last through many weeks of creating. Students will also have a designated space in the studio to store their clay and works in progress between classes.

Along the way, students will learn handbuilding techniques, explore the ceramic process, solve creative challenges, and build confidence in their own artistic choices.

Most importantly, Clay Your Way is a safe, welcoming, creative space where young artists can relax, make friends, get their hands in clay, and enjoy creating something that is truly their own.

No experience necessary—just curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to play with clay!
