Bring your ideas and watch them come to life in clay!

This eight-week intermediate hand-building course is designed for students who have completed a beginner hand-building course or already have experience working with clay.

Each 2.5-hour class combines guided instruction and projects with time to explore your own creative ideas. Denise will help you strengthen construction techniques, refine your forms, experiment with surface design, and develop greater confidence working independently.

Students will also get a special introduction to microwave raku, adding an exciting experimental element to the course.

After the fourth class, students receive a four-visit Student Practice Pass to use during the remaining weeks of the course, providing additional studio time to continue projects, practice techniques, and build confidence.

Repeat students are warmly welcomed. Bring fresh ideas, revisit favorite techniques, or challenge yourself with something new.

Clay: Students must purchase approved clay from MWCA.

Restrictions

This class is held in MWCA’s basement pottery studio, which requires the use of stairs and may not be accessible to guests with limited mobility.

Participants should be comfortable sitting or standing for extended periods and working with clay, water, pottery tools, and studio materials.
