What to Expect
Slow down, Step back and Soak up Something Different…Daufuskie for a Day!
A different Pace.
Almost a different Time.
Scenery worth soaking up.
How you get there is half the Adventure and what protects Daufuskie Slower Simpler pace.
If it were easy everyone would do it!
I can not think of any better way to transition to the slower pace of Daufuskie Island, leave busy behind as you drive out to Tybee Island on the long causeway through the marshes.
Departing from the dock at the Crab Shack on Tybee Island we will head out of Chimney Creek to Tybee Creek up to and through Oyster Creek to Bull River...and you are now half way there! But in reality it is all what was once The Savannah River Delta. If you zoom out enough you will see what looks like the roots of a majestic old tree stretching 24 miles from Hilton Head SC to Wassaw National Wildlife Refuge, This is a salt marsh estuary one of the largest in the world. Winding through the marshes during twilight hours in a most exceptional way to enjoy time in nature and make the journey to the county dock on Daufuskie.
