Learn More
This private trip includes a short 15-minute boat ride from Bull River Marina to the fossil-rich islands of the Savannah River. Unlike the public tour, your group has the flexibility to explore multiple islands and customize the experience based on where the best fossil hunting conditions are that day.
Your captain will assist as your shark tooth guide, helping you learn where to search and how to identify fossils while sharing information about the local history, wildlife, and environment of the Savannah River.
The river is regularly dredged to maintain the shipping channel, which brings fossil material to the surface and deposits it along the shoreline. Guests commonly find modern shark teeth, ancient megalodon teeth, marine fossils, mammal fossils, and occasional historical artifacts.
Because this is a private charter for up to 12 guests, you can shape the trip to fit your group — spending more time fossil hunting, exploring different islands, or simply enjoying time on the water. Dolphins are frequently seen in this area, and guests often have close-up views of the large cargo ships traveling through the Savannah River shipping channel.
Coolers and speakers can also be provided upon request to enhance your group's experience.
