What to Expect

Step aboard and unplug from the ordinary with Zoned In Charters, where the natural beauty of the Florida Keys becomes your playground. Based in the heart of Islamorada and exploring the pristine waters of Tavernier and Key Largo, our eco-tour experiences are designed to immerse you in the rhythm of the ocean while respecting and preserving its delicate ecosystem.

From the moment you leave the dock, you’ll feel the difference. Our comfortable, well-equipped boat offers a smooth, relaxed ride as you cruise through turquoise waters, mangrove shorelines, and open bays. Keep your eyes on the horizon—playful dolphins, graceful sea turtles, and a variety of coastal wildlife often make appearances along the way, creating unforgettable, natural encounters.

Whether you’re seeking a peaceful dolphin-watching cruise, an educational eco tour, or a laid-back day chilling at a hidden sandbar, every charter is tailored to your pace and interests. Swim in crystal-clear shallows, soak up the sun, or simply enjoy the gentle sway of the boat as the Keys breeze sets the mood.

At Zoned In Charters, we believe the best experiences are unhurried, authentic, and connected to nature. Our knowledgeable captain shares local insight, conservation awareness, and hidden gems only locals know—ensuring your time on the water is as meaningful as it is memorable.

Come explore the Florida Keys the way they’re meant to be experienced—zoned in, stress-free, and surrounded by nature."
Our fishing charters tour the greater Key Largo, FL area and vary in length and price. You can choose from half-day, ¾-day, and full-day trips. A half-day trip lasts approximately 4 hours, a ¾ day trip lasts 6 hours, and a full-day lasts 8 hours. Be sure to consider which type of trip you would like to take, being on a boat for an extended period is not the easiest for all people.

BoneFish Fishing

Bonefish or Albula Vulpes can be extremely challenging to find and are naturally good at hiding. They have the nickname grey ghosts because their torpedo-shaped bodies are covered in bright, silver scales that deliver a mirror-like reflection of the flat bottom. An adult bonefish can measure between 14-16 inches and weigh around 8 pounds. When bonefish are hunting food, they will swim up to water as shallow as 4 inches deep. When they are not hunting, they are deep in the ocean.

Bonefish can spook easily, so you must be incredibly patient when bonefish fishing. At Zoned In Charters, our professionals have the knowledge and experience to help you hook a bonefish! We will teach you tips and tricks on catching these sneaky fish. Regardless of your skill level, we are sure you will have a good time bonefish fishing around the beautiful Florida Keys.

Backcountry Fishing

Inshore fishing attracts anglers from all over the world who are looking for the “grand slam” of shallow water fishing as you can target numerous prized species in the Florida Keys! Backcountry fishing is done in the inland waters of the Florida Keys. Flats fishing and backcountry fishing are done in the same place, as the backcountry holds all the flats.

The shallow waters in the Keys are home to plenty of fish feed, such as shrimp and crab, making it a hotspot for larger fish to prey. On one of our backcountry fishing adventures, you will come into contact with prized monster inshore fish that call these waters home or are just passing through. Water depth in the backcountry can range from 0 to 30 feet of water with massive cuts and channels between the shallow flats and also includes the Mangrove Islands. It's all part of the “backcountry.”

Everglades Fishing

An ecosystem unlike any other in the world, the Everglades comprises tropical wetlands across the southern part of Florida. The landscape is home to threatened or endangered species like the West Indian manatee, the wood stork, the green sea turtle, and the Cassius blue butterfly. The area is also known for legally protected plants like the Florida prairieclover and Everglades bully. The Florida Bay is the largest body of water in the park, with over 800 square miles of beautiful water that’s teaming with seagrass, fish, corals, and crustaceans.

Book a trip with us and have a once-in-a-lifetime experience traveling through and fishing in this unique environment. No matter the skill level you hold in fishing, you will feel supported and excited to take a trip through one of the most exotic areas in the United States. Not only will you have the chance to fish for some great types of fish, but you will also be able to enjoy looking for other species that live in the Everglades. Captain Zach Jones will make sure you have an experience you’ll be talking about for the rest of your life.

Flats Fishing

Traditionally, it has proven quite tricky to fish the local flats of Key Largo. Thankfully, Zoned In Charters is here to show you the way! Our experienced captain will teach you how to read the flats and select the perfect gear for your journey. You never know which fish you'll encounter on the expedition, but there's a good chance you will see tarpon, permit, bonefish, and more.

There’s no reason to be overwhelmed at the prospect of flats fishing. Above all, you’re going to have a great time! On top of that, our fishing charters are quite safe, so we welcome all sorts of anglers to come aboard. No matter your experience level, you're going to enjoy cruising the Florida Keys through Marathon, Tavernier, Islamorada, and Key Largo, FL.

Trout Fishing

Trout are found all along the coast of Florida in the shallow saltwater around shore, sandbars, islands, and patches of mangrove.

Trout go by several names including spotted, speckled, and gator trout. Though the smaller versions of this fish may not seem like much, seatrout remain the number-one targeted saltwater gamefish in the state of Florida. Trout are plentiful and can be found in several areas across Florida from Biscayne Bay to the remote, dark waters of the Everglades – and they can be caught by anglers with any skill level!

No matter your experience level with fishing, we are happy to welcome all anglers aboard one of our trout fishing charters!
