Key Largo Night Dive — Pennekamp & Sanctuary

Watch the reef transform after dark on a one-tank night dive inside John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The same coral formations you see during the day become a completely different dive at night — corals open up to feed, nocturnal species emerge from crevices, and your dive light reveals colors and details that daylight washes out.

Your captain selects a shallow reef site based on conditions, keeping depths manageable and currents mild for a relaxed dive with extended bottom time. Expect lobsters, crabs, octopus, moray eels, nurse sharks on the move, sleeping parrotfish, and the occasional southern stingray gliding through your light beam.

Check-in time varies by season — as early as 5:00 PM in winter, as late as 7:00 PM in summer. Exact time is confirmed when you book.

Tanks and weights are included in the base price. Add full gear rental, a dive light, or a guide at booking. Solo divers are welcome but must dive with a guide.

All participants must hold a valid Open Water certification or higher. Kids 12 and up are welcome with a certified parent or guardian. Night diving experience is not required — the crew gives a thorough briefing on night dive procedures, light signals, and navigation before you enter the water.
