Your experienced local captain takes you by boat beyond Marco Island to natural barrier islands and shelling beaches selected based on tides, weather, water conditions, and local knowledge. The boat ride to the shelling areas is typically about 15–20 minutes.
Once ashore, shell at your own pace while your captain remains nearby to answer questions and help with shell identification when needed. Along the way, keep watch for dolphins, manatees, shorebirds, and other wildlife of the Ten Thousand Islands.
Three-hour departures are often offered in the afternoon, making them an easy addition to a day on Marco Island. Departure times vary by season and conditions. Shelling takes place on natural, undeveloped shorelines with uneven sand, shells, and shallow water. Guests should be comfortable walking in these conditions and safely boarding and exiting the boat. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Guests who are pregnant or have mobility concerns should consider the boat ride and beach conditions when deciding whether this experience is appropriate. All guests must follow the captain’s safety instructions.
