Your Private Captained Sailing Experience

Your charter includes a qualified United States Coast Guard-licensed captain who will operate the vessel and oversee navigation, sailing conditions, and passenger safety throughout the experience.

Your route and sailing experience will be determined by the captain based on wind, weather, tides, marine traffic, navigational conditions, and the length of your charter.

Depending on conditions, the vessel may operate under sail, engine power, or a combination of both.

A specific route, anchorage, swimming opportunity, wildlife sighting, sunset view, or amount of time under sail cannot be guaranteed.

Cruise under sail as daylight fades, relax in the spacious cockpit, enjoy views of the downtown skyline, or remain underway as the city lights begin to shimmer across the water.

Pricing

Private Captained Charter

3 Hours – $799 for up to 6 guests
4 Hours – $1,065 for up to 6 guests

Applicable taxes, booking charges, and optional enhancements are additional and will be shown during the booking process.

Gratuity for the captain is customary and discretionary. A gratuity of 15% to 20% of the charter price is typical.

Departure Location

Your charter departs from The Vinoy Marina in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time to allow for check-in, boarding, verification of required liability waivers, and the captain’s safety briefing.

Late arrival does not extend the scheduled charter period.

Guest Requirements

The Charterer must electronically execute the charter agreement before departure.

Every guest must complete the required liability waiver before boarding.

Each adult guest must complete their own liability waiver. A parent or legally authorized guardian must complete the waiver for each minor guest.

Guests who have not completed the required waiver will not be permitted to board until the waiver has been completed.

Food and Beverages

You are welcome to bring food and beverages aboard.

Please observe the following guidelines:

  • No red wine
  • No glass beer bottles
  • Wine and champagne bottles are permitted
  • Avoid foods and beverages that may stain the upholstery or finishes
  • Small bags and soft-sided coolers are recommended

Alcohol may be consumed responsibly by guests who are at least 21 years of age.

The captain may refuse boarding or restrict alcohol consumption if a guest appears intoxicated, impaired, aggressive, or unsafe.

Footwear

Soft-soled, non-marking shoes are permitted aboard Breaking Away.

Guests may also remain barefoot or wear clean socks.

Hard-soled shoes, dark marking soles, heels, and footwear that may damage or mark the vessel are not permitted.

Sunscreen Guidelines

To protect the vessel’s decks, upholstery, and finishes:

  • Lotion sunscreen only
  • No spray sunscreen
  • No oils, bronzers, tanning products, or shimmer products

Please apply sunscreen before boarding whenever possible.

For this charter, the captain will make the final determination on the morning of the charter based on actual marine conditions and forecasts.

  • If the captain determines conditions are unsafe to operate, the charter will be considered weather-canceled.

If a weather cancellation is declared by the captain:

  • If rescheduling is not mutually possible, charter fees paid to the vessel owner will be refunded.

Vessel Unavailability

In the rare event the vessel becomes unavailable due to mechanical failure or other unforeseen circumstances:
