PADI Reef Renewal USA Level 1 Diver Course

Ready to turn your dives into something meaningful? The Reef Renewal USA Level 1 Coral Restoration Course gives you the opportunity to work directly with living coral and contribute to real restoration efforts in the Florida Keys.

Before your in-water experience, you’ll complete Reef Renewal USA eLearning, introducing you to coral biology, reef threats, and restoration techniques. At the Key Largo Dive Center, you’ll take part in a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn proper coral handling, cleaning procedures, and nursery protocols, along with a safety briefing for working in the nursery.

You’ll then travel by boat to an active coral nursery, where you’ll complete two guided training dives. During these dives, you’ll assist with coral maintenance tasks under the supervision of your instructor and divemaster—actively contributing to the health and growth of the reef. Strong buoyancy control is essential for this course.

Upon successful completion, you’ll earn the Reef Renewal USA Level 1 PADI Specialty Certification and have the opportunity to return as a volunteer for ongoing coral nursery dives with our team.

Reef Renewal nursery dives are typically offered on a monthly basis—please check our calendar for upcoming dates and availability.
