About
Take a step back in time as you explore the "Wild Women of Sarasota."
You will hear about Mary Jane Whittaker and her contemporaries on this story filled walking tour. As early homesteaders, they were faced with extreme heat of summer, swarms of insects, many snakes, alligators, and Indians!
While the 1920s was "Boom & Bust" period, the memorable women of that time often went unnoticed by their male counterparts and history. We will change that with stories of the ladies even locals haven’t heard about!
At the end of the tour we will celebrate these amazing women and share stories of our own achievements, and you will get a copy of Bertha’s Brownies recipe to keep the history alive.
