What to Expect

Some groups don't want to share the water — especially in the best month of the year!

A private booking gives you your own guide and your own boats for two hours on Kings Bay during manatee season. Covers 1 to 5 paddlers; larger groups are priced at checkout.

That's the real difference. Your guide works for your group alone, which means when we find manatees, we stay. No schedule but yours, no strangers, and a pace set by your slowest paddler instead of someone else's.

From mid-November through March, hundreds of manatees move into the warm spring-fed waters of Kings Bay. You'll watch them from 100% clear tandem kayaks — a manatee gliding beneath a transparent hull is a better view than a snorkeler gets, and it doesn't disturb the animal.

This is a no-swim tour. We practice passive observation only, in line with FWC manatee protection guidelines.

Manatees are wild animals and sightings are never guaranteed. Cold days are best.

Restrictions

  • No swimming during manatee season. We practice passive observation only and remain in the kayaks for the full tour.
  • Do not touch, chase, feed, or pursue manatees. Your guide will position the group at a respectful distance and let the animals decide how close they come.
  • You must have upper-body mobility and the capability of paddling a kayak to participate.
  • This activity is not recommended for pregnant women in their third trimester.
  • Alcohol is prohibited while on our tours.
  • Manatees are wild animals. Sightings are never guaranteed, but we take you where the day's conditions say they'll be.

Cancellation Policy

All sales are final, however, we do offer Trip Protection at Crystal River for 10% of the ticket price to allow you to cancel for a full refund for any reason up until 24 hours prior to the trip time. No-show participants will not be refunded.
