Crystal River Manatee Clear Kayak Tour | Kings Bay, FL (November - March)
Manatees in Kings Bay, seen from a 100% clear kayak
What to Expect
From mid-November through March, hundreds of manatees move into the warm spring-fed waters of Kings Bay — which is how Crystal River earned the name Manatee Capital of the World®.
This is a two-hour guided paddle in a 100% clear tandem kayak. You stay in the boat the whole time, and when a manatee passes underneath, you watch the whole thing happen through the hull. No wetsuit, no snorkel, and you go home dry.
Your guide is a local who's been reading these waters for years. Where the manatees have been this week, where the water's clearest, which springs are worth the paddle that day. It changes constantly, and knowing the difference is most of the job.
We've been running clear kayak tours in Crystal River since 2018, with a maximum of ten guests per tour.
If seeing a manatee is on your bucket list, this is a good way to do it.
Manatees are wild animals and we can't promise sightings — but cold weather brings them into the springs in numbers, and your guide knows where to look.
