Whether you’re a seasoned waterfowler or new to the sport, our guided duck hunting experience in Crystal River and Central Florida delivers unforgettable days in the blind, comfortable lodging, and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel like family.

🏠 Arrival & Orientation (Evening Before the Hunt)

Your trip begins when you arrive at the Crystal River Fishing Lodge the evening before your first hunt. After you’ve settled into your room, we’ll head out to dinner together—just you, your guide (Captain Louie), and possibly a few fellow hunters.

This dinner isn’t just a meal — it’s where the real trip starts. Over good food and a laid-back setting, we’ll:

Go over the game plan for the following morning

Review weather conditions, duck movement, and current scouting reports

Discuss what species you’re targeting

Cover gear, clothing, and what to expect in the blind

Talk about safety and shooting zones

We’ll answer any questions you have and get everyone on the same page so there are no surprises in the morning—just a smooth, focused hunt.

🦆 Day 1 – First Morning Hunt

We'll be up well before sunrise, with coffee ready and your gear prepped. After a short drive or boat ride (depending on the location), you’ll be in the blind and ready well before first light.

Depending on your target species, we’ll take you to:

Coastal saltwater zones for sea ducks like Redheads, Bluebills, Buffleheads, and Scoters

Freshwater lakes and marshes for Mottled Ducks, Ringnecks, Teal, and Whistling Ducks

Your guide will handle all the setup—decoys, calling, dog work (if requested), and bird ID. All you have to do is stay ready and enjoy the action.

After the morning hunt, we’ll head back to the lodge, clean birds, and take some time to relax. If you're up for it, we can grab lunch or explore the local area in the afternoon.

🎣 Optional Cast & Blast Afternoon

Want to add even more adventure? Upgrade one or both days with a Cast & Blast combo for an additional $400/day. After your morning duck hunt, you’ll switch gears and hit the water for a shallow inshore fishing trip targeting:
Redfish, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Black Drum, and more.

It’s the ultimate Florida day—shoot ducks in the morning, catch fish in the afternoon.

🦆 Day 2 – Second Morning Hunt

On day two, we’ll either return to a productive location from the previous day or switch things up based on bird movement and your goals. We might focus more on a specific species, hunt a new location, or adjust based on what we learned on Day 1.

Again, you’ll be set up with everything taken care of—from transportation and decoys to bird retrieval and cleaning.

🛏️ Departure Day

After your second hunt, you'll have plenty of time to clean up, pack up, and head home with a cooler full of birds and stories to match. We can also help coordinate taxidermy if you shoot something special.
