Blackout Tour

Our Blackout Tours offer a unique early morning shelling experience in the Ten Thousand Islands or late night experience. Starting before dawn, or after dusk, you’ll begin shelling while it’s dark, using your headlamp, Flashlight, and the soft light of the moon to guide your way. The low tide exposes a wealth of seashells, and is giving you the perfect opportunity to collect some of the rarest finds of the day. For before dawn tours your group will get to watch the sunrise from the island, offering a peaceful and stunning backdrop during the tour. Being on the beach during these early hours allows you to experience the tranquility of the Ten Thousand Islands offering a unique and memorable experience.

What to Expect:

Prime Shelling Conditions: The early morning low tide reveals a variety of seashells, offering a great chance to find rare shells while being some of the only people on the Island.

Shelling in the Dark: The only light at the beginning of your tour will be from your headlamp, flashlight, and the soft glow of the moon.

Sunrise Over the Islands: As the sun rises, you'll be able to enjoy the beauty of the Ten Thousand Islands with the first light of day, adding a memorable moment to your shelling adventure.

Tour Requirements:

Early Start: The tour begins before dawn to ensure you’re on the beach at low tide and can enjoy the sunrise while out on the island.
Physical Condition: Participants should be in good health and able to walk along sandy beaches.

Equipment: Bring a headlamp or flashlight to navigate in the dark, and dress in layers, as early mornings can be cool. Comfortable walking shoes are also recommended.
