Short of remembering to breathe and equalize, there is no skill more critical to divers than controlling buoyancy — and no skill more difficult for new divers to master. In an ideal world, no diver would ever need this course, as you simply wouldn’t be able to get certified unless you could demonstrate adequate buoyancy skills.
Unfortunately, the average diver’s buoyancy skills are an embarrassment — and make divers a danger to themselves and the environment.
Why do so many divers have such poor buoyancy skills? There are several reasons, including:
Developing good buoyancy control skills takes time and practice.
Learning to control buoyancy also requires the opportunity to get out and dive, while frequently stopping, starting and changing depth.
While we would like to think that our beginning divers are fortunate enough to avoid these problems, not every diver gets to learn to dive from us. And even some of our own students could use a little more work in this area. This is why we offer this convenient Specialty Diver course — so that every diver has the opportunity to master and excel at this important skill.

Dive Courses and Experiences
• Dive courses and experiences are non-refundable after 48 hours of purchase. Epic Diving FL can issue a refund for the full amount of the course/experience or a partial refund within 48 hours of purchase. A partial refund applies after the student has accessed the online study. Books are non-refundable. Although we plan some of our dive excursions on the sea and from boats, inclement weather may force us to dive in alternate land-based locations for the sole purpose of being able to complete your dive training. Some of these locations are up to 80 miles away from the store and we unfortunately cannot provide transportation. You can opt to reschedule your class for a future day. When you decide to dive the alternate location there will be no partial refunds for the alternate location vs. boat dive. If you only complete a portion of the class we will issue you a referral letter that can be used to complete your class at any dive center worldwide during the next 12 months (each dive center may have different fees to do this), or you may come back and finish the class within 12 months with us for an extra fee.
Dive & Snorkel Trips
• Dive & snorkel trips require 48 hours’ cancellation notice for a Refund or Reschedule. If we cancel your trip because of weather (high winds), you will receive a full refund. There is no cancellation due to rain.
Special Dive, Snorkel, and Shark Diving Trips
• Special dive, snorkel, and shark diving trips require 7 days’ cancellation notice for Refund or Reschedule. If we cancel your trip because of weather (high winds), you will receive a full refund. There is no cancellation due to rain.
Dive Courses and Experiences, Dive & Snorkel Trips, Special Dive Trips, Special Snorkel Trips, and Shark Diving Trips; are all subject to forfeiture. There will be no refunds or store credit due to late arrivals, No shows, canceled airline flights, seasickness, bad visibility, inability to complete the dives, or any other reason. Partial dives due to physiological, mental, or equipment issues are non-refundable.
BY BOOKING YOUR DIVE COURSE, DIVE EXPERIENCE, DIVE TRIP, SNORKEL TRIP, SPECIAL DIVE TRIPS, SPECIAL SNORKEL TRIP, SHARK DIVING TRIP ONLINE OR OVER THE PHONE YOU AGREE TO ALL TERMS OF THE RESERVATION. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO CANCEL ALL COURSES AND TRIPS AT ANY TIME.
Equipment Rental
• There will be no refunds or store credit for unused rental equipment.
