Port St. Joe Forgotten Coast Wildlife Adventure
Private Tours Departing From Port St. Joe, FL
What to Expect
The Forgotten Coast is an area about an hour east of Panama City Beach, stretching from Mexico Beach to Apalachicola. This region consists of small, uncrowded beach towns and secluded waterways rich in marine wildlife. This is Old Florida, with few flashy tourist attractions.
Our journey begins in the heart of Port St. Joe, heading out into St. Joseph Bay.
St. Joseph Bay, an Aquatic Preserve, boasts some of the richest seagrass systems in Florida's northern Gulf Coast. Known as one of the clearest and most grass-dense bays in the panhandle, it is magical for shallow-water snorkeling.
On our tours in Port St. Joe, we often find pods of dolphins in their natural habitat, almost completely undisturbed. We even have an underwater listening device, a Hydrophone, where you may get the chance to listen to dolphins! We also have a chance to encounter a variety of wildlife, including turtles, rays, sharks, invertebrates, and migratory birds.
We explore secluded beaches and sandbars accessible only by boat, a shell collector's dream!
On longer tours, we can visit sunken ships and structures in deeper water for experienced free divers. On full-day tours, we can also visit remote Crooked Island.
This is the ultimate tour for nature lovers and those seeking to escape the crowds! Often, we are the only people around for miles.
If you're here for the day, we can share pointers on unique Forgotten Coast activities and recommend local eateries.
