About
Sunk in 1986 for the purpose of diving, the Thunderbolt has a rich history. She's about 6 miles south of Marathon sitting upright at depths of ~80' to the superstructure, 100' to the deck, and ~120' to the sand.
The wreck is rich with life and is home to a number of resident Goliath Goupers exceeding 400lbs. We will often see large game fish and many reef species too. Current can sometimes be a limiting factor on this dive and as a contingency plan, we often do a drift dive on a deep reef. Gloves are suggested as the descent lines are decorated with both fire coral and fisherman's hooks.
We run this trip as a guided dive, regardless of your certification. Nitrox is available, and suggested, for your safety. The minimum age to make this dive is 15 years. Please, book this trip in advance, and note that we do NOT double-dip the wreck.
