This hands-on fishing adventure explores the grass flats, mangrove shorelines, and winding backwaters of Crystal River. Calm, shallow waters make for a relaxed learning environment, perfect for beginners, families, and anyone who wants to better understand Florida’s inshore fishery. Along the way, Captain Gene teaches fishing techniques, fish behavior, lure techniques and locating fish—all while keeping lines tight and spirits high.

Depending on the season, you may learn how to catch and identify a variety of popular inshore species, including redfish, spotted seatrout, snook, tarpon, mangrove snapper, and sheepshead. Whether it’s your first time holding a rod or you’re looking to sharpen your skills, each trip is tailored to your experience level, the tides, and current conditions.

All fishing gear, bait, and licenses are provided, so you can focus on learning, fishing, and having fun. Captain Gene’s comfortable 24-foot boat accommodates 1–6 guests and is ideal for a safe, engaging day on the water.
