Goethe Long Horseback Trail Ride
Best for Experienced Riders • 1.75 - 2 Hours
What to Expect
Difficulty level: Hard, if you haven't ridden recently, you will probably be sore after riding for nearly two hours!
Relax and enjoy a beautiful 1hr45 - 2 hr guided, walking horseback trail ride through the Goethe State Forest. See the longleaf pine forest, oak hammocks, and palmetto-dominated sandhill communities of North Central Florida on this nearly 7-mile route. There may be water crossings and a greater chance of seeing insects and wildlife. This ride is recommended for riders who have a bit of experience in the saddle.
Includes
We provide riding helmets free of charge, and helmets are required for all riders! You are welcome to bring your own riding helmet if you have one.
Restrictions
- Children must be at least 55 inches tall and 10 years old in order to ride. (Parents with smaller children are encouraged to book a pony ride or a carriage ride for the whole family instead!)
- Weight max 250lbs for the safety of horses and riders.
- Health: Good health, free of neck and back injuries, cannot be pregnant (The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists recommends avoiding horseback riding during pregnancy because it can increase the risk of falling or abdominal trauma.
