What to Expect
The Adult & Child Emergency Care course provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to respond effectively in emergency situations. This program focuses on primary and secondary care, including CPR, first aid, and injury assessment for both adults and children.
Designed for divers and non-divers alike, this course emphasizes practical, hands-on training to build confidence and competence in responding to medical emergencies. Training follows current emergency care guidelines and focuses on real-world application.
What You’ll Learn:
- Adult and child CPR techniques
- Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Primary assessment and emergency response
- Secondary care and injury evaluation
- Bleeding control and shock management
- Handling common medical emergencies
Required Skills Performance:
Students must demonstrate the ability to:
- Perform high-quality CPR for adults and children
- Use an AED safely and effectively
- Conduct scene assessment and ensure personal safety
- Manage airway emergencies and provide rescue breaths
- Control bleeding and provide basic first aid
- Demonstrate effective emergency response decision-making
Prerequisites:
- Minimum age: 12 years old
- No prior certification required
- Ability to participate in moderate physical activity
Course Structure:
- Classroom-based academic session
- Hands-on practical skills training
- Scenario-based emergency simulations
- No in-water training required
- Training conducted under the supervision of a qualified instructor

- This course meets prerequisite requirements for many advanced and rescue-level dive courses
- Students must complete all required skills to receive certification
