What to Expect
Full-Day Miner’s Run Loop UTV Adventure (Pitkin / Taylor Park, Colorado)
The Miner’s Run Loop is a full-day high-alpine UTV adventure that combines mountain passes, historic ghost towns, and some of the most scenic terrain in the Taylor Park region. Starting in Pitkin, Colorado, this ride takes you across Hancock Pass, Tin Cup Pass, and Cumberland Pass—each reaching elevations above 12,000 feet.
The route begins with a climb toward Hancock Pass, where riders leave the trees behind and enter rugged alpine terrain with expansive mountain views. From there, the trail descends into the historic ghost town of St. Elmo, one of Colorado’s best-preserved mining towns and a favorite stop for photos and exploration.
The adventure continues over Tin Cup Pass before reaching the historic town of Tin Cup. Depending on timing, riders often stop at Frenchy’s for food or a milkshake before continuing the loop. The final leg crosses Cumberland Pass and returns to Pitkin through classic Taylor Park backcountry scenery.
This ride offers a mix of maintained dirt roads, rocky sections, high-elevation climbs, and scenic overlooks throughout the day. It’s best suited for confident beginners to experienced riders looking for a true Colorado backcountry experience.
With three mountain passes over 12,000 feet, multiple historic destinations, and direct ride-out access from Pitkin, the Miner’s Run Loop is one of the most complete and rewarding UTV adventures in the region.
