Pottery Membership Evaluation
Demonstrate your pottery experience and be evaluated for independent Pottery Membership.
What to Expect
The Pottery Membership Evaluation is designed for experienced potters who would like to become Pottery Members without first completing the Sunday Pottery Series.
During this instructor-led evaluation, you'll work on a pottery project while demonstrating your knowledge of wheel throwing, handbuilding (if applicable), studio safety, equipment use, and proper cleanup procedures. The instructor will observe your ability to work safely and independently within the Rocky Mountain Folk School pottery studio.
This is not a beginner class or a private lesson. Participants should already have prior pottery experience and be comfortable creating independently with minimal instruction.
At the end of the evaluation, the instructor will determine whether you are ready for independent Pottery Membership or recommend additional instruction before membership is granted.
Approval is based on safe equipment use, studio etiquette, and the ability to work independently—not on artistic style or experience level.
