2-HOUR CONCEALED HANDGUN PERMIT: RENEWAL COURSE
Designed only for RENEWING your current concealed carry permit. "EXPIRED MEANS EXPIRED!"
What to Expect
NOTE: DO NOT let your permit expire! Expired means Expired. Once a permit expires, it is no longer valid for carrying concealed.
"Expired permits have a 6-month grace period in which to renew, however those who renew after July 1, 2025 are still subject to the new training requirements per HB24-1174" (Retrieved From: El Paso County Sheriff-CHP).
The “grace period” only allows for a 2hr class to renew the permit without restarting the application process (which requires an 8hr class). During this grace period, carrying concealed is not permitted. You must complete the required training (2hr) and submit your renewal application to regain a valid permit.
Also: "Pursuant to C.R.S. 18-12-211 (1) (a) a permit may be renewed within 120 days prior to the expiration date." (Retrieved From: EPSO-CHP).
NOTE: You must be familiar with handgun safety / handling fundamentals, loading, and basic live fire experience. If you are uncertain of your skill level, "Firearm Fundamentals" (HG101) is a great foundation and highly recommended, or you can contact us with any questions. Students must demonstrate handgun proficiency by successfully completing a prescribed course of fire.
Take this class in order meet the requirements to renew your current CHP through your Colorado County Sheriff Department.
