What to Expect
Uncover the life and legacy of Margaret Brown with a Guided Field Trip at the Molly Brown House Museum!
All of our field trips are:

We have three guided field trip options:
1. Operation: Curator (Grades K - 6) - Ready to be a curator for the day? Through hands-on activities and guided exploration, students discover how artifacts tell stories. Students learn about Margaret Brown, Colorado history, and life long ago.
2. Primary Source Workshop Tour (Grades 6 - 12) - How do historians uncover the past? What makes a source reliable? Students explore Colorado history and Margaret Brown's legacy through hands-on artifact exploration and primary source analysis. Students build critical thinking skills and practice historical inquiry along the way.
3. Titanic Student Tour (Grades 3 - 12) - Available in March and April only! Explore themes of immigration, innovation, and class through the story of the ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic. Discover Margaret Brown's legacy of activism and philanthropy through hands-on analysis of real and replica artifacts.
Self-Guided Field Trip (All Grades)- Explore the house at your own pace! Best for groups who have limited time. If you need to adjust your entry time, please email [email protected].
Homeschool Groups:
- Please book all adults as chaperones. Chaperones are expected to stay with the group at all times.
- Siblings ages 0 - 4 are free as non-participating observers. To include them in the hands-on activities, please book them as a student to ensure we have enough materials and educators.
Scheduling:
Field Trips must be booked at least three weeks in advance. We can occasionally accommodate a field trip with a shorter notice, but these must be booked via phone or email. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected] or 303-832-4092 x 20.
Restrictions
Accessibility Information:
- Exploring the Museum includes climbing a series of staircases: 12 steps up to the front porch; 21 steps up to the 2nd floor; 19 steps to the 3rd floor, and 19 to return to the 1st floor from the second.
- Please note in your registration if the steps would be an issue for you and if you will need to use our lift to access the main floor of the Museum. The lift does not access the 2nd or 3rd stories.

Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your reservation up to two weeks in advance for a full refund. If you cancel with less than two weeks' notice, payments are non-refundable. If the museum cancels your tour(s) due to inclement weather, your payment can be applied to a different day or refunded. We do not provide refunds for students or chaperones who cannot make the trip day of. Contact [email protected] for questions.
