SOLD OUT Scandia Wood-Blackwell: Multi-Layered Floral Display Art
Oct 13th & 14th • Fusing Experience is Required • Create 3 Flower Themed Pieces
What to Expect
In this super fun technique workshop, Scandia will share with you how she creates (and displays) her colorful floral art displays using a few different approaches. Scandia will be covering several methods she uses to create and enhance her floral display art works. Your primary project will be to make a 10" diameter "work-in-turn" piece that will involve cutting and stacking specific glasses using a Patty Gray/Creative Paradise mold. In addition to cutting flowers from sheet glass, you will also be able to include Vitrograph stems, Twisted Cane Murrini, GlassLine paints and an assortment of Frit. You will additionally create a second smaller project that involves choosing your background glass for either a subtle background or a backdrop with spirited attitude. A third project will be a smaller sampler where you will get to use Confetti.
All pieces will be fired at D&L two times. You will be able to continue add detail to your pieces and re-fire them in your own kilns at home for a 3rd round. Bring your favorite glass cutter, nippers, breaking pliers, and safety glasses. The samples shown are representative of the basic techniques you will learn to add depth and interest to floral art.
